Well actually yes. Based on the principles of thermodynamics, especially the second law of thermodynamics, and the current understanding of the universe's expansion, one can predict the "heat death" of the universe. Understanding where it all originated remains pretty elusive, but the road ahead is quite clear albeit bleak, bleaker and bleakest. Perhaps an in depth conversation with entropy would be helpful.

Agrred.  The most mind blowing concept for anyone to try to wrap their head around is that space is..never ending...infinite..limitless.

Have you ever considered a state of absolute nothing as the beginning, being infinite, and the universe like the visible tip of an iceberg floating around in that darkness where the darkness itself is infinite unconsciousness and the universe is like the manifesting imagination of that unconsciousness, slowly waking up through evolution, over billions of years until we get to the human being, the highest evolved form, which is the only creature able to look within itself through the process of involution and catch a glimpse of its own soul or spirit by piercing the darkness of the mind consciously where time and space end. We all go back to that state of unconsciousness when we go to sleep each night as everything has to go back to the source from which it has come but we're not really conscious of it when we wake up from our sleep. 
Quite a thought provoking piece of writing and well written.
