By:   Bannuel Asante “Kayayo, kayayo”, my title is announced in the crowd accompanied by beckon. Turning to the direction of  echo with quicken pace, In  sweaty blouse, “Maria Amaka skirt” and ***** scarf. Some passers- by   hold  noses and others show faces of foulness Yet I am an indispensable entity, and so are you all.

MADAM "KAYAYO"

KAYAYO is the name given to local carriers in Ghanaian markets. Due to the nature of their jobs they appear shabby, sweaty and unkept all the time and as such they are regarded as less human by non- kayayos. most of them come from the northern sector of Ghana and hence are Muslims with peculiar dressing mode .
