Today your memory haunts me As I ran the torture you brought me came flooding back I ran faster Hoping that running would somehow would temporarily erase that night You screamed I cried For the first time your abuse turned physical I ran faster I couldn't breathe You took my oxygen I ran faster If only I ran that night Maybe then your memories wouldn't always make me want to run faster
