Neck getting sunburned
Hair ripping sunlight
as that semi pressed and passed us
standin’ still as a school bus
And we signaled ‘im for the horn
pulling our fists down on the air
Ya know, we were celebrating!

Sweaty kids snoozed
stuck to naugahide
nodding under ball caps
Slumped over souvenirs
Happiness marooned in the third seat
