By: L.D. Conner Concerning my mother and my father, My mother stayed. My father got farther, Than I ever thought he’d go, Was it me? Was it mom? I just want to know, Why did you go? I just want to see you again, You said you were my father, And not my friend. I never thought that our time would end, But you had different plans at 6 am. What I’m saying is, I argue with mom, I argue with God, I don’t know what praying is. Sometimes I don’t feel, But when I do, I feel what decaying is. Sometimes I wonder what would have changed, If you hadn't gone, if you would have stayed, I know your addiction would have raged, All over my twelve-year-old, brain. Would I have been better off, With a dad and a mom?
