White T-shirts were not made for me
they reveal far more than need be
sweat stains, anxiety
spaghetti sauce
dirt & grease
yet I keep wearing them
otherwise people would wonder:
“what grave misfortune hangs over his head,
he must be at a funeral every other week”
so it’s better to have some white,
any white
even if it is soiled by sloppy habit
at least then I would appear more regular
than Johnny Cash,
or the Grim Reaper
lighten up, they say
oh but I am
unbearably light
that’s why
I wear
