All my hearts broken on the floor, The higher the pedestal, the harder the fall, Pieces of the past float through my mind, A love that won’t fail I cannot find, I hold on close to what I have, When my grasp tightens it turns into sand, I runaway when things go astray, I’m fighting hard not to leave when he begs me to stay, I want to believe all his promises are true, The pain of the past vs the hope of something new, The debate in my head goes back, then forth, Somehow though, I’m still found in his arms, I carry on, I don’t know how to give up, But maybe oneday I’ll wake to discover I’m in love.

The debate, The wait
