He walks the halls. He feels ashamed. They call him names. What did he do, to deserve this? She smiles bright. Laughs all day. She’s not okay. What did she do, to deserve this? They cry all night. Scream, and pitch a fight. When they’re at home. They are always alone. They act alright. Say, “I’m fine.” They’re not alright. They’re just not fine. What did they do, to deserve this? Listen here, young children. You’re still growing up. Life’s not messed up. So close your eyes. I promise it’ll be alright. Maybe not tonight. But someday, you’ll be fine.
