The world is cold and cruel, Where only the meanest and strongest rule, There is no way to be free, My mother said to me. The world is a breath of fresh air, And every thing is fair, Be who you want to be, My teacher said to me. The wold is full of wonder, But as we get older, we'll go under, Enjoy it now before we get responsibilities, My friends said to me. The world is full of arrogant boys, Who only see women as toys, They'll only cause you misery, My father said to me. The world is seen in different ways, So I listen to what everyone says, But I'll have to wait and see, What the world has in store for me.

They Said To Me
