Pebbles rotate all around the man The sound of heavy paws He says he can fight it, he can Yet he glances at the creature's jaws Fierce, yet resembles a cat A friendly house pet Not a pet, nothing like that The time is now set The sun glows like a bright ball of fire Light peering through the trees Being alive, that's all he desires Creature, I come in peace Tears stream from his eyes He clenches his teeth The man, completely scared at its size He reaches for his sheath Many years in the town Never seen such a creature All those times, the times he frowned But never at a creature with striking features The man knows his sword would not do a thing The creature roars loud He takes it out anyways The cat reacts to the sound In front of the creature, he mourns He begs and cries Carrots and corn He had everything, but the time is set, now he dies Its claws, each a sharp knife The smell of the creature's breath Thinking about his kids and wife The time has come, time for death
