The gulf between us vast and deep as an ocean
The air between us thick with unspent emotion
The bond between us brittle - was once bright and new
And my sailboat becomes a spaceship as I fly to you
Now I’m blind in the darkness, charting the unknown
Solid to liquid, liquid to gas, the path dark and unshown
But I fight it, the heaviness, the doubt I won’t break through
I leave my spaceship behind and float out to reach you
Because a promise, is a promise, and you have my heart
I cross this dying space
… just to reach you
… till death do us part.
