Place: The corner of 7th Ave. and 31st St. NYC

Time: Monday rush hour, 8:45 AM

Scene: I just came out of the Penn Station escalator tunnel and was turning to get a cab to take me to work at Highline Ballroom. My train in from Long Island was late, so I was in a hurry, but still, not rushing. A guy in Bankers attire, late 30's, was blindly texting/surfing/reading his Horoscope/insert reason for staring at screen here, bumped right into me and then rolled his eyes as if it was my fault ...

I looked at him walking away and seriously pondering going all fruit-loop on him (I don't act like this no more). Just as I calmed down, he kept walking East, right off the curb and into the path of a cab (and the rest of 3 lanes of speeding traffic!) coming south on 7th. Ave. 

It screeched it's brakes and sounded it's horn ... people screamed ... I SWORE I was gonna watch this turd burglar get splatted down the avenue ... as did everyone else!

So help me ... he yelled at the cab ... AND everyone else that was telling him off for not paying attention, stepped up on the curb  and went RIGHT BACK to what he was looking at on his screen!

I STILL wonder if this trait ever actually DID catch up with him!
