This cruelty of human nature Love gives us both strength and weakness Even though it is simple It is difficult Layers and layers of skin as we peel off the onion, tears well up in our eyes The more we reveal, the more vulnerable we get As your heart and mind tries to speak at the same time, words come out all wrong It wasn’t a game for losers and winners But a bet with the heart Nobody wants to get hurt Maybe I should’ve put my walls down Maybe you were right, you may not be the one for me that I would have acted like I care I’m sorry if I’ve hurt you, alas not what I wanted What if I always knew you are what I want, and what I need? But so afraid that you’ll let me down If you could just see that it was because I am not confident that you wouldn’t give up on me Maybe it wasn’t fair that you weren’t able to prove to me because I didn’t tell you Likewise, I wanted to see by myself if I am someone who can make you fight But maybe deep down, you couldn’t or it’s just my own stupidity to not allow myself to risk this heart Maybe it’s too late to regret now It breaks me to see that I’ve made you think I am someone which you knew I aren’t In all hopelessness, I am willing to fight but if I fail, I just hope that we can give this friendship a chance and then you’ll be convinced again that you weren’t wrong about how you felt about me at the start
