They told us no one can win this war So We won the battle that no one could win And we showed them we were fighters They told us nobody could ever love the unlovable So We cared for the uncared for And we loved the ones no one else would love They told us we would never look good enough So We acted beautiful And we felt beautiful We would never look good enough But we would always act better They told us we would never be smart enough So We studied hard we did our best And we were smarter than enough They told us the scared could never be brave So We looked our fear in the eye and we met it face to face and we were scared but we would not run They told us we would never be enough and that we could never do what we were born to do They told us and they were wrong

They Were Wrong
