If nostalgia had a taste what would it be?
Mac and cheese?
Or the taste of blood falling when you have to hold your tongue
Fruit roll-ups?
Or the taste of the bittersweet goodbyes in 8th grade
Chicken nuggets?
Or the taste of your eraser when you try so hard to get that 100
but all you do is
FAIL
If nostalgia had a smell what would it be?
The roasted marshmallows?
Or the smoke from the fires?
Hot chocolate on a winter day?
Or the chemicals we put in our hair to
look perfect
but all we do is
FAIL
We all long for the past because we know we have failed and wish we could fix it, but we’re not perfect, and nostalgia has a smell and a taste it’s called REGRET
