A constant tug of war War raging on in my head My wings clipped So I may lie on the ground Worthless and abandoned I carve my skin ease the pain The pain of being alive But every day the pain gets worse I want to end it all My suffering and toil But I am a coward Too afraid to do it But I cannot continue With a war raging on in my head The voices telling me to die The blood pouring from my wrists The pain ebbing away Warm black wings carry me away To a new horizon Away from this life I hate
