I lean on my own intuition, not on the color of his skin Because his mind is incredible to explore and his thoughts are a comforting way to begin. I seek pleasure in the curves of his smile As he pulls me to his chest  and breathes me in, And I find hope in the sound of his laughter While he embraces the love he has found within. I learn empathy from the helping hand he lends to his friends As he gives generously and supports selflessly And as he protects my beating heart he always tries to mend. I have discovered love in its purest form thanks to him Because of his god-sent courage and simplest acceptance And because he has forgiven my past without cradling any sins.

Where My Heart Is
