“I’m sorry” Three simple syllables Two individually dull words One heart breaking sentence That should have changed my mind Made me realize that you cared Showed me that you wanted me to stay “I can’t do this” One absolutely meaningless sentence - Spoken from the cracked lips Of a girl who is cracked herself - Because we both know I’ll come crawling back When I need to feel secure When I need a place to call home And we’ll stumble through the same cycle Me acting as if my heart doesn’t shatter Each time you walk through the room You obliviously joking with me Like you didn’t leave a gaping hole in the shape of you
