I was told I shouldn't.
I was told I should change.
I was told I couldn't,
Or I would be strange.
I wasn't allowed
To share what I thought.
I had to say instead
What I was taught.
I would get into trouble.
I would be hurt.
Unless I was humble,
I'd be no better than dirt.
I didn't listen.
I'm not a freak.
I am myself.
I am unique.
