As I sit under the shade of a tropical palm And gaze towards the horizon Two magnificent sheet of blue Identical in beauty Meeting in a seamless manor My thoughts are calmed, and I see a face A sight of endless beauty That of the ocean That bellows in front of me Water flows around my person Holding me in its arms rocking back and forth I lay back my head, and I am transported to a place Where you are cradling my face And kissing me softly It is here, in this space You were tattooed into my conscience I look up, Into the deep blue sky Past clouds and into the cosmos Where your intellect is held And I am transported to a place Where the edges of the world close in And darkness surrounds us You make me feel safe And it is here, in this vessel Where we came to love My heart swells with your image in my mind A drop of something bittersweet on my tongue Curls my lips into a smile And I thank the universe for you

As I Look Out to the Ocean
