The abyss is full of all but forgotten memories I see their talons reaching for me I don't want them The scars are sickly deep The sting too fresh and yet, they are drawing me in The tang is overly sweet memories tainted with doubt Is that a real smile a real laugh It can't be. I know what comes of what was how can we have been a family how can I have memories of love and of joy when everything becomes dark full of hatred and mistrust The memories are sickly sweet but there's something else they transform in dark shadows they are tainted with the knowledge with an understanding I fear them.
