mother swats
her magazine
at hard
boys hits
the wall, these pictures
that have
her smiling, shrug.

sleepwalking like something brother won at the fair.
we nudge it. put the bread
back of the mouth. injured
deer, slanted
mailbox. wife
a gown
ghosting
her legs
keeps
taut
the clothesline
from hospital
to home.
