To feel like crying
wouldn't feel so sad
so hard
and rough
like that cemented road we walk down.
It always took too long
to trollop to the shade
I cannot bear the heat so
you hold up a hand to shelter me.
to block me from the sun.
and
I only remember blackberries
and those little white flowers
that always overgrow the path.
Tell me how you do it,
tell me how you can overgrow
overpower
fade
a rolling path
of memories.
To feel like crying wouldn't be so sad.
