As your warm day starts, the fire laughs heartily, the lights comfort you as friends, your blanket attached to you. Change - No Power. No laughing fire, friendly lights, warming quilt. The cold front knocks, as if they're welcome. Tears of loneliness shatter against the chilled floor. Stepping one on is as painful as broken glass. Reminders of your failure, your mediocrity, your minimal worth.

The source of your strength can be taken away when you least expect it. Cherish it while you can, the aftermath is always haunting.
