I live in a prison with no walls Rattling the bars that aren't there Ankles shackled with no bonds Dare I escape into the world? Failure prowls the streets Rejection closely follows A pack of ravenous wolves, Mouths dripping saliva, Seeking to devour their anemic prey Success in distance stands On the peak of dreams never reached Beckoning me draw near Still I Remain Rotting in this ruinous refuge The guard wears my face The key he holds for me to take

My Own Prison
I live in a prison with no walls Rattling the bars that aren't there Ankles shackled with no bonds Dare I escape into the world?
