I was never moved by a friend's critic Neither when a beggar called me no spirit Either way I barely felt anything Even when I heard the audience clapping A stranger's stare creeps me out A teacher's praise makes me doubt But when mom spoke her mind out She told me I was heartless-- So I cried.

I was never moved by a friend's critic Neither when a beggar called me no spirit Either way I barely felt anything Even when I heard the audience clapping A stranger's stare creeps me out A teacher's praise makes me doubt But when mom spoke her mind out She told me I was heartless-- So I cried.
