In 12 years it was decided that your life would only amount to a threat The 12 pulled up to the scene, guns blazing And in less than 12 seconds your lifeless body fell to the ground In 2 seconds 2 shots were fired and your 12 years of life, with potential for so much more were severed short More than 12 months later and you were finally denied justice Empty toy guns, led to empty rationalization for death 12 apathetic jurors To them you were nothing but another number, 12, 16, 18? When your complexion mirrors the midnight black sky, they start to confuse the brilliant stars with airplanes 12 years of joy, 12 years enslaved, in a world that never really cared about you Almost 12 years to the day of your death Salvador Sibrian and Uriel Damien were victims to trigger happy police too A simple cycle of violence, in the end life is composed of numbers, but these are my 12 lines for a 12 year old child who didn’t get to be a child
