When you go to bed at night
And slowly fall asleep
Reflecting on the days turmoil
All the pain and grief
You sometimes wonder how
This life could do you harm
It’s the way the cards are dealt
When all you want is calm
Some days are better than others
But it always seems to rain
And you always carry on
In this life you still remain
You stay loyal to all
And you often wonder why
There are no smiles on earth
You could find peace in the sky
