Oh to love you, It was the idea of happiness, of warmth, of comfort That drew me in like a moth to a flame, But you, you are a vision, And I love the idea of you. And your pure perfection demands my gaze, And my heart goes wild in its cage, And your eyes arrest my soul, Those eyes, I swear the entire universe is in them, And time stops as I drink you in. I tried to create a symphony in your honor, But no timbre was rich enough, no sound was sweet, And I was not worthy enough a composer, So I let you exhale the song of your life, And I just simply breathed it in. But she has you captive, And she is your religion, And you are devout in your faith, And to her I am a snake in the garden, But when it comes to you, I am weak. I offer you not fruit but wine So that I may think of your lips with each taste, And with each sip, I drink you with my eyes, Oh have mercy fair Adonis, As I imagine a sweet kiss upon thy lips.
