I believe in humanity.
I worship at the altar of peace.
I pray for salvation from within.

I have no faith in human gods;
Just the minds
That dreamt them up from nothing.

Yet I falter, and I doubt
And even if it’s just for tonight,
I admit my gods are as false as any other.

Interesting write. We all have doubt in our beliefs, whether they're over gods, holy books, people, or our own selves. To believe in humanity and peace is to constantly see the cruelty and depravity and wonder if those things you believe in are dwindling. But then the next inspiring thing comes along and rekindles that faith.
