I run from my fate As I walk beside an angel The demon close behind Through hallways in my mind I hide and it seeks Like a child’s game of danger Its eyes appear to grasp My neck as I just gasp For air, it’s not there I have to break, its iron hold I want to banish, all this cold Barren emotion In my head Indication That I’m dead I press my fingers to my eyes To settle down and realize I’m dreaming Just dreaming Imagination wild My own inner child Defining what I see Is just another mystery
