you can set your roots *deep* in an attempt to hold on

but

 even the strongest of trees can be forced to *bow* to the wind.

this is a good "observation" as you call it; their might be a better form for it though, when I read it i thought haiku, but just a suggestion.

I, like everyone else, really like this poem. 

And yes, it can totally be considered a poem.
