Night slinking in
blues switch from pale
to menacing navy
spiked silhouettes
in the distance
like children’s book monsters
a globe of white
here and over there
but not yet
not yet
for fuchsia streams
punctuate the sky
like a million raspberries
sailing away
before darkness
guzzles them all
before every light dissolves
just like any day
to another day
