Sun kept secret by a blanket of grey Warm water, an aimless, welcomed gift from cool air Toes squish into soft sand below As waves sweep me away-- Come so far, come so far to be pushed back to where I started. Safety, serenity in a shallow baptism Feet firmly planted after each lift Sweet fresh breeze, away from a heavy city Free to let go-- Come so far, come so far to be pushed back to where I started. A laugh on land tells me this minute is not mine Another day, another mind, another life Whose story winks at mine. So I float.
