Reality Elusive A cloud of mystery Misunderstood In a world of no absolutes Living on the edge We crave the darkness Desiring depths of detachment No rules Nothing to discipline the masses Rose-colored glasses Distort the view Unclear expectations Misguided morals Madness Emptiness Shallow waters Fill the oceans in our hearts We cry out for more nothingness We are crystallized carnage Nothing penetrates We cannot feel We do not live Pieces of us die Everyday Among the living The laughing The foolish The melancholy masses Longing for belonging Self serving Re-writing truths Tantalizing Tormenting Appeasing itching ears Pleasing all But nothing satisfies Wanting more Getting nothing… ©~Travis October 30th, 2011
