If our love was an ocean then we were stranded at sea lost, miles from safety, just out of reach. We fired off all signals and called out in distress, But we were sailing upon a corpse. A crippled ship. Wrecked. And when we depended on a shore but a stone’s throw away you slipped the stone into my pocket and watched as I drowned beneath the waves.
