Stand aside, for it’s not you we want to see. We want to see the other person. The one you’ll never be. We want to see he who sticks out in a crowd; The one who talks to much And laughs too loud. Stand aside so we may congratulate them. The ones with their heads held high, Your head starts to swim As you silently comply. They ride by on their high horses, Not bothering to watch their step. They believe they’re such unstoppable forces, So bright and full of pep. So, stand aside and let these good people through. Just stand in their shadows, And watch as they smile, nod, and bow on cue.
