there’s a certain trickery
in realizing dreams
a deep sense of urgency
dissipating
mind no longer
berating
body
a soft calm washes over
but only momentary
those seconds past
we cling so closely
only it won’t ever last
thick smoke curls upwards
heaven bound
released from the flames
of a downward spiral
a descent so excellent
in the span of a breath
inhale
exhale
on to the next step
