Up aloft
Mount malindang:
I tasted her syrup
I drank her tang.
She spoke Tagalog
I understood her slang;
I cut mine own wrist's
To taketh her pain's.
And in the sun
Neath the rain;
She couldst smile again
As ourn eye's stared, no blink.
