I admire the tree in silence. The way it clings to the rock And works its way down into the river Down into the earth. I think about the knowledge of man. All the things that men have told me about the tree – about botany or biology. They have said this They have said that Words whispered into the air and gone in time. Knowledge is worthless in comparison to beauty This tree is magnificent And that is enough for me.
