She is as broken as the sidewalk I walk on today Once a beautiful path Dulled by the footprints of the ungrateful   Cracks and crevasses covering her whole Unrecognized by most Turned away by others Weeds push through her body Disrupting the disrupted even father Across the street A freshly paved avenue lays proudly As her streetlamps flicker in and out
