sitting watching out my passenger window the green-gray storm cloud approaches blanketing me from blue sky it is hot, sweltering sweat pours out of my pores in scores the ragged shoes on my feet are too tight they bite with holes for my toes to see daylight or rain a gray bird flutters by the window to give a brief yet beautiful bellow a fleeting hello and as a passer by the bird passes by to be seen for only a second but never a second glance that i had some place to be as quick as that bird yet no place is where i find myself just sitting watching out my passenger window the green-gray storm cloud motions the percussion section
