Not always. Sometimes we hate because our ego is hurting. Hate offers protection. It makes you feel powerful and justified in your actions. It feels good to hurt those you hate. I'm not saying its right but it's not always about fear of the divine.

Sometimes, Ellie, we hate because we are not masochist who love pain. A P.O.W. who spends 20 years in a concentration camp and is abused daily by the guards, may justifiably hate them not because he fears the light they emit, but because he's human and balanced to feel as so. We're designed to fight or flight, and not to stay and take or enjoy cruelty. We are feeling machines that think, and not thinking machines that feel - proven because our thoughts can control our actions, but our feelings dictate to us.
