Does your heart jump over the sun?
Does the sun seem as near as the ground?
Does your blood rush and burn?
Do your knees fail to keep
the poise you've been polishing to show?
Do I seem real? Do I make sense?
Does everything but me seem to blur?
Is the whole world too slow for you
but then you can't seem to catch up?
Do you find it hard to breathe?
Does the whisper of my name
scream endlessly in your head?
Does the bittersweet sensation of this situation
linger even after you awake?
When you see me,
Do you feel like I do when I see you?

This poem is a decade old, written back in 2005.
