"leave us" said the old man "LEAVE US" your alone, there is no us your alone and worthless there was never an us your cold dark heart, ticking deeply and slowly your thick silver main, swaying with your baggy trousers "i was young once" "i was young and ignorant..." "i cared once" "on the cusp of fashion not long now until im young again" i will leave you, i will go and you will be forgotten about your pension will be your only comfort "i fought a war" whispered the old man too much pipe smoking made him think he was a person
