In moonlight shadows, she awaits
As the air around her dissipates,
Pluming tendrils of smoke enfold,
Her body now numbed to hot or cold.
The silver disc moves one step to the left,
She eyes the sky, her feeling bereft.
He whispers from the lake, “where are you?
My all, my everything, you withdrew”.
Her footsteps hesitate once, then move,
Naked emotion she has to prove.
Immersed, submerged, underwater,
Once again, reliving the manslaughter.
And once more freed from the dreams,
Where she left him only hearing screams.
