There was a man, let us call him Mack who always had the perfect comeback. But he kept missing his cue. So he decided to spew random retorts to pick up the slack.

NaPoWriMo Day #8 Poetry form: Limerick Trepverter (n.) (Yiddish) A witty riposte or comeback you think of only when it is too late to use. Literally translated, it means "staircase words". Another variation is the French word, L’esprit de l’escalier .
