Like an arrow from Cupid
making some people stupid,
Age comes a calling
but no one is falling in
love.
Though age be a temptress,
relentless,
it creaks up on me
to sneak up on me,
always cruising for a bruising
it uses up time.
Never get old I was told,
useless advice,
when our days
are as written, on
one grain of rice.
It holds me spellbound in
its withering looks
creeps into my skin and
paints wrinkles therein and
therein or thereon
lies the tale.
