If you had a time machine That you could use just once Would you travel backwards to undo what had been Or dive into the future and trust in providence? Or maybe you are lucky Thats quite rare I suspect That you wouldn't dabble in the past As you would protect Everything you have right now And wouldn't change a thing But you might glimpse the future To check if Charles makes king? I think I would go back to spend a day with those Who's lives have since been snuffed out And left so many holes You could go one week ahead And find lottery numbers out instead Or go back and never make that call That made that ball start to roll I wonder what you would do? And hope that you do too You may already know and you mightn't have a clue
