There was the flickering flame At the corner of the room Used to be bright, once upon Wick is running out of time Till it burns away, forever Soot of yesteryear And the blackened walls Hand-prints left on them Last remains of glowing days Flame becomes shorter Fumes of last breath Choking the lungs Guiding hands Shall keep the flames alive From the gusty winds For how long Before it extinguishes Fading away to the darkness
